2009 POINT BEER SING THAT TUNE KARAOKE CONTESTSPONSORED BY POINT CASCADE PALE ALEOFFICIAL CONTEST RULES RULE 1 All contestants must be 21 years of age or older. I.D.’s will be checked! RULE 2 I. Each performer shall sing one song. NO DUETS. If a contestant chooses to sing the same song as another contestant this IS allowed. You may ask at registration for a list of songs chosen by all contestants.Sing that Tune Karaoke Contest will not be held accountable for the order of performance – duplicate songs may be sung back-to-back. All contestants must pick from song lists provided by Sing that Tune Entertainment. Each contestant shall use only the equipment provided by Sing that Tune Entertainment. NO outside equipment shall be used. RULE 3 – Changes for 2009 Contestants will be judged by a panel of judges. Each judge shall be non-partial. Judges will not be the owner of the establishment or John Copps. Each contestant shall be judged by the following categories: 1. Singing ability (Possible 60 points)2. Stage Presence (Possible 30 points)3. Audience Response (Possible 10 points) The “Last Chance” Qualifier, will be held at Cruise In, Wausau, will advance the top FOUR contestants scoring the most points to the final competition mentioned below. The top contestant at each qualifier (except for Cruise In, Wausau) scoring the most points, will advance to the final competition held on Saturday, April 4th, at the Mead Inn, 451 E. Grand Ave, Wisconsin Rapids, for a chance to win $1000 for first place, $300 for second place, and $200 for third place. Each contestant shall be judged to the best of the judges ability. Judges will judge contestants non-partially. RULE 4 Registration will take place one hour prior to scheduled show time. There will be NO WARM UPS. Limited to the first 25 singers at each location. The order of performance shall be decided by luck of the draw. RULE 5 In the event of a tie, the contestants will be asked to pick a new song in a given amount of time and compete in a “sing-off.” RULE 6 Any contestant that faces the dreaded malfunction (within reason) of the equipment has the option of starting over. Examples: feedback, skipping of disk, loss of microphone. (This does not include the contestant bumping into the equipment causing a skip or turning off the microphone while singing.) RULE 7 Any contestant guilty of insulting or distracting any of the other contestants while they are performing shall be disqualified. Any contestant guilty of insulting or starting any confrontation with any of the judges, John Copps, or employee of the establishment now or in the past shall be disqualified and/or ineligible to participate at any location within the 2009 Sing That Tune Karaoke Contest. Sing that Tune Karaoke Contest will not be held accountable for any confrontations between contestants away from the stage. RULE 8 Employees of the Stevens Point Brewery, Sing That Tune Entertainment, Midwest Communications, General Beer, and Zastrow Distributing, and their immediate family members are NOT ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE. RULE 9 All contestants must do their best while performing, and do their best to have a great time. Each contestant shall be judged to the best of the judges’ abilities. Contestants that do not adhere to these rules shall be subject to going home grumpy. |
